In the summer of 2024, various Japanese automakers, including Daihatsu, participated in a fashion project centered around upcycling and reincarnation. Each automaker approached the theme differently, culminating in a fashion show held in Tokyo in June 2024.

Daihatsu's approach involved creating raincoats for outdoor music festivals using recycled materials. They crushed old vinyl records to produce polyvinyl chloride (PVC), which served as the primary material for their designs.

The collection featured three transformable looks, each incorporating zippers that could be inflated into balloon-like structures with small fans.

When the fans were turned off, the structures deflated, allowing the garments to transform into different styles.

little side note: a final photoshoot is planned in a few weeks.
